About the space — Caixa Prego Island
Espaço Cultural Semente was founded in January 2010 by Jorge Egídio dos Santos, an angola capoeira master known as Mestre Jogo de Dentro, on Caixa Prego Island — Vera Cruz, Bahia, Brazil.
Our purpose
The idea of creating a cultural space on Caixa Prego Island came with the intention of developing social, cultural and ecological work — valuing all the richness that exists on the Island.
Capoeira angola aims to value and preserve our past and respect our local identities, always seeking better quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
What we do
The space is open for different activities, with the goal of sharing knowledge that contributes to our formation as citizens. Activities that add to our growth:
- Palestras (talks) and educational immersions
- Dance, capoeira and yoga classes
- Samba de roda and Tai Chi Chuan
- Conferences, meetings and seminars
- Commemorative and Afro-descendant religious festivities
Our activities are for all ages and we promote a family environment.
